Thank you for volunteering! Here's everything you need to get started.
Volunteers play a vital role in making UPYBA great. Pennsylvania law requires background clearances for anyone working with children, and we're here to help you through the process. Getting your clearances is easier than you might think!
Required Clearances
Complete your criminal background check at PA State Police ePatch. This one is also free for volunteers.
You have two options here. Option A: Schedule fingerprinting at an approved location. Option B: If you've lived in Pennsylvania for 10+ years, you can complete a disclosure statement instead—much easier!
Once you have all three clearances, register with the Cal Ripken League website. You'll complete a national background screen, sex offender registry check, and online safety training. There is a $25.50 fee for this step.
